Volunteer

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering!  We cannot continue to reach our goals without the help of our many volunteers.  The Resource Center has several opportunities to help those in need.  All our volunteer positions require an application and interview with our director.  We are currently looking for individuals to help us in the following areas:

  • This opportunity is for those who want to be the first point of contact with those in need. Meet walk-ins, answer phone calls and gather first contact information to document needs and assess next steps. You will be asked to complete an application and interview with our director.

  • Do you have a heart for those in need and the time to walk a new friend through all of life’s challenges? This opportunity requires attendance of a three-day training course, application, and an in-depth interview with our director. Plan to dedicate 2-4 hours per week for meeting with and/or communicating with your friend. Develop a deep understanding of their needs and work with them to create a life plan with clearly defined goals for improving their current life situations. This takes a strong commitment but offers great rewards as you see your friend move themselves forward using our proprietary process and tools. Each assignment requires a minimum of a six-month commitment.

  • Drivers transport our friends to work, appointments, shopping, and daily errands. This opportunity requires a valid license, reliable vehicle, and flexible schedule.

  • Our recovery group meets every Monday evening. We are looking for volunteers to help set-up/break-down meeting space, arrange for and/or prepare and serve meals once a month and support our leaders administratively.

  • This position includes periodic updates to our Square Space website, frequent posts on and maintaining our social media sites, assisting with the creation of marketing materials in Canva.

  • Many of our friends struggle to take the steps necessary for recovery due to the love for their pets. We are looking for animal loving individuals to take our friends’ pets into their home for a temporary period until after an in-patient program is completed. You will be responsible for the full care of the assigned animal during this time including potential visits with the animal’s owner.

  • Many of our friends are required to take one or more classes during their assigned programs. We need volunteers who can attend evening classes. Volunteers will help with classroom set-up and breakdown, helping serve and/or prepare meals and/or snacks for participants, and help with class preparation.

  • This position assists our director with data analysis and report generation and a variety of administrative tasks.
